Villa Vettica was built as a family residence in 1730 and has always been owned by the same family.
Used primarily as a summer residence, the architecture of Villa Vettica reflects the typical southern Italian manor house with private residential quarters, gardens, a private chapel and outbuildings for care takers.
The Villa was then modernized in the 1960’s by Baroness Pia Monti.
She has been able to realize, with enthusiastic dedication and intelligence, a successful plan to recuperate and modernize Villa Vettica to its original magnificence and the lemon garden to its original splendor.
